Welcome to Camryn, our new Victim & Family Support Liaison!

Hi there!

My name is Camryn (she/they/he), but everyone calls me Cam. I spent the first few years of my life in Steinbach but moved to Winnipeg once it was time for me to start school. I’m the daughter of a ’60s Scoop victim, so I have only recently begun my journey into my Cree roots.

I’ve worked with people my whole life, and have always been that friend everyone went to for support for all kinds of issues. That, as well as my own experience with mental illness, led me to choose my path in Psychology. Just this June, I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, having minored in Sociology/Criminology. I like to consider myself somewhat of a research enthusiast, so I’m always falling down rabbit holes seeking knowledge about a wide variety of topics. In my free time I like to dance, listen to music, go to taekwondo, and spend time with my family.

I’m looking forward to supporting the many families that come to Candace House, and even in the short time since I started I’ve been warmly welcomed by everyone here.
