Healing Haven
A safe and comforting day refuge for victims, survivors, and families impacted by violent crime.
The Healing Haven at Candace House offers a safe and comforting home-like day* refuge located within one block of the Winnipeg Provincial Law Courts for victims, survivors, and families attending court proceedings.
Space is available for one to two families during the day, with priority given to families who have lost a loved one through criminal violence. Access is based on referrals through Manitoba Justice Victim Services.
The Healing Haven offers a safe place to take a break, debrief, or prepare and eat a meal or snack in a setting of privacy and confidentiality, and surrounded by warmth and care. Spaces and amenities include:

A resource area with access to brochures, pamphlets, and books

A place to take off your jacket and shoes and put on a pair of slippers provided for you

A fully equipped kitchen for guests to prepare and eat meals together, with coffee and tea always available

A private washroom with face towels

A living room, with access to WiFi and a TV with Netflix, as well as ventilation for smudging or lighting of incense

A meeting room to speak quietly with support staff
*Please note that no overnight services or self-referrals will be available for the Healing Haven.
